You wouldn’t be able to catch any Pokemons at this time, but you can still train your starter Pokemon. Follow the grassy area and head north so as to enter into Oldale Town.

Oldale Town

Once you reach Oldale Town a clerk from Poke Mart will give you 10 free Potions. Potions are very useful in battles. He will show you the Pokemon Center and Poke Mart in the town explain everything about it. You will be given 10 Potions before he leaves. Poke Mart sells only Potions at this time but once you progress you will get many items.

Mystery Gift

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire gives a Shiny Beldum till 14^th January 2015 as a mystery gift. To get it go to the start menu and choose Mystery Gift and choose via internet and you will receive your gift. A lady will be waiting in the Pokemon Center , talk to her to receive the Beldum.

I got my Shiny Beldum at Oldale Town. The path on the left hand side is blocked by man who claims to have discovered a rare Pokemon tracks. He won’t move away. So the only option is to go north to Route 103 where Prof. Birch’s daughter/son is present.
