India's Tour Of England 2014

India's last tour to England was in 2011. Lot was going on that last tour. The 2000th test match, 100th match between India and England and battle for No.1 spot in the test rankings. It turned to be a nightmare to the Indians after 4-0 whitewash.

Dhoni hadn't lost a series as a captain until that disastrous tour in 2011. India hadn't won a test overseas since 2011 in Jamaica. India have remained winless in the last 14 overseas test matches.

This time there are many changes to the squad and consists of only five players from that last tour to England. India has got talented youngsters who almost won a test in both South Africa and New Zealand in their last tours. Last time India's highest score in those four test matches in England was just 300. The young team looks very strong on batting and could pose good score on board.

England lacks some big names which were present in India's last tour. England started to rebuild their team after the Ashes whitewash and are struggling to replace Swann. England lost to Sri Lanka at home just a fortnight earlier.

Cook's captaincy is on the line and he has been lacking runs. He hasn't scored a century in his last 24 innings which will be a concern for England. Also Matt Prior has got little hamstring problem on his right thigh but is likely to play in the first test.

Stuart Binny has got a good chance of making his test debut with a good performance in practice games. Anderson is one of the leading wicket takers in Trent Bridge. The pitches during the Sri Lanka tour was very flat and didn't do much. If the curator puts up a similar pitch in Trent Bridge it surely would favour the Indians.

The first match is on July 9th at Nottingham. India would definitely be wanting to break their winless streak whereas England would be hoping to improve their poor record in Trent Bridge.
